Taken from his award-winning new album Trouble Fête, Badi presents single ‘Me Too’ featuring Kooffeey and Zap Mama, plus a remix by rising Belgian star Blck Mamba.
The global #MeToo movement has impacted all our lives in recent years, heralding winds of change through much-needed and long-overdue questioning. Badi’s writing has not escaped these questions, and it felt important for him to put forward this track as the final single from album Trouble-Fête.
On this Afro-centric track, Badi’s voice is complimented beautifully by Belgian singer Kooffeey and the legendary Zap Mama, while DJ Blck Mamba provides a punchy, dancehall-influenced remix.
The video that accompanies ‘Me Too’ is directed by photographer/videographer Agnes Kena. It highlights women from the Brussels cultural and entrepreneurial scene, all close to Badi’s network: Rokia Bamba (DJ and sound artist), Alix Hammond-Merchant (artist manager), Luna Gillet (sound engineer), Lisette Lombé (poet and visual artist), Anne-Sophie Oudin (producer and artistic director) and Nadine Minampala (consultant and coach-trainer).
Recently receiving the ‘Octave de la Musique’ award in the Urban category, Badi’s album Trouble Fête was created in collaboration with Boddhi Satva and issued on new BBE spinoff label, Batakari. It’s available now on all digital platforms.
